Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Florida. I received my Masters of Social Work from Walden University , with understudy work completed at Jacksonville University. I have enjoyed working in the helping profession for over 20 years. Through my certifications, I have gained knowledge and experience on how to help others help themselves. This is my Why and I am blessed to help others find theirs through this great work.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session will include confidentiality, rapport building, and review of initial assessment. The level of rapport built during this time will determine if client is ready to set therapuetic goals. If client needs more time to build rapport, then goals can be set at following session.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength as a provider is the goal of empowerment for clients and seeking to assist others with identifying their goals through the stages of change.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

This treatment method typically takes approximately 5-20 sessions. It's adaptable for various disorders, including depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, eating disorders, and many others. Initial work begins with psychoeducation and goal setting. Collaborative work with client includes different techniques that may include but are not limited to identifying and challenging thoughts and using behavioral interventions. Through collaboration, I work closely with clients to assist them with seeking answers to resolve presenting issues.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Techniques of DBT that i use involves strategies that involve mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. This can be used to assist with anger managment , eating disorders, and healthy boundary setting in relationships.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I utilize ACT techniques to assist clients with self acceptance to help clients with a wide range of psychological issues. Some of these are anxiety, depression, and stress managment. Clients are working collaboratively with me to accept themselves and their thoughts as they identify with their values. This will assist them with operating in discomfort through self acceptance.

Parent-Child Interaction (PCIT)

I am a certified parenting educator trained in Nurturing Parenting by Dr. Stephen Bavolek's evidence based program. I assist parents in becoming educated in nurturing parenting strategies that will assist with more positive and less stresful parenting practices.

Motivational Interviewing

I utilize Motivational Interviewing as a collaborative, empathetic, and client-centered approach that effectively helps individuals resolve ambivalence and commit to change. This is done in combination of open-ended questions, affirmations, reflective listening, and summarizing to explore and enhance clients' intrinsic motivation.
