Sonya Coy is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a and has been providing therapy for 18 years. She uses a technique called Rapid Resolution Therapy which is a technique that is used to help clients resolve challenges they are facing rapidly. Some clients have had challenges resolved in one session. Others have seen amazing results in 1 to 6 sessions. This process is painless, which helps the client eliminate the emotional pain without reliving the traumatic or stressful event by telling the therapist over and over again. Clients are able to eliminate negative thoughts, feelings, and behaviors which bring peace to the soul. Sonya is committed to helping facilitate change and growth in her clients and works diligently to truly understand their needs. She specializes in working with adult clients who struggle with anxiety and who are stuck because of a trauma in their lives. Sonya understands that one therapy technique will not work for everyone and that she must adapt to her client and the way they learn and take in information. She has appeared as a guest therapist on Praise 102.5FM, Love 860AM, blog radio on Women Warriors and Business Leaders of Today. Sonya provides individual, family, and group therapy to adolescents and adults. She specializes in working with adults who have experienced traumatic events as well as those having difficulties with: depression, anxiety, divorce, anger, sexual abuse, obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, and stress management. What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to educate clients, store trauma memories, and eliminate anxiety and Solution Focused to help clients plan and execute.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

What a lot of people don't know is that 98% of the time, anxiety is self-inflicted. The thoughts come but people allow them to stay. I teach how to stop the thoughts for good!
