I am licensed therapist in Florida with over 15 years of professional work experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I am EMDR trained and work with children, teens and adults. My therapy style and approach draw influence from Gestalt, Cognitive-Behavioral, Mindfulness and Reality based theories. My interventions include client-centered, motivational interviewing, thought restructuring, and mind/body connecting. I have extensive experience with Trauma, Addiction, Self Esteem/Confidence, Anxiety, Anger, ADD/ADHD, and Depression. I chose to be a therapist when I realized that people’s thoughts, feelings, and actions are rooted in their self-concept and it made sense for me to help with the pain, to be a supporter and cheerleader. My toolbox is large and eclectic and enables me to meet you where you are and help you move forward. We will design your treatment plan specifically for your wants and needs. You have found an ally in this process.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
During our first session, we will begin to establish rapport. I ask questions to get to know you, your thoughts, your feelings, and history. We can talk about any apprehensions you have regarding the therapeutic process. As we continue to meet, you will see that we have created a safe, secure, and comfortable space for you to evolve. Every session will consist of time for you to process how you are feeling and any stresses or anxiety. You will feel supported and validated in this process. Most sessions will also have a psychoeducational or skill building component followed by interventions (things to practice) that help to create change in areas you have identified.
