I am Christina Snider and I am both a family and psychiatric nurse practitioner. I have been practicing for over 24 years. I received my psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner education from Johns Hopkins, my family nurse practitioner training from the University of Michigan. I am also an NP educator for the University of Michigan and received my doctorate from Case Western Reserve University. My passion is helping my patients to be the best they can be and to help them integrate wellness into their lives.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I will do a new patient intake that will take 30-45 minutes and I will at that time have a much better understanding of your concerns and how I can help you. At the end of the visit, I will work with you to develop a treatment plan that is agreeable to you. We will also map out a tentative treatment schedule for follow up.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am very knowledgeable, well educated, passionate about mental and physical health. I want my patients to get better and to succeed. I am committed to your wellbeing. I stay up to date on the latest treatments but am cautious and have your best interest in mind always.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am best positioned to see clients who want to get better and are committed to the mental and physical health. I work best with patients who want a well trained practitioner who can guide them with their mental health concerns. I want you to be the best you can be and will be committed to helping you get there.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I believe it is important to meet my patients where they are and to commit to helping them to be the best they can be whatever that may be for them.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use cognitive behavioral to help patients identify what concerns they have and reframe them so they are less problematic for them and so they can move forward in a positive way.

Interpersonal

I believe it is very important to develop a positive and constructive relationship with my patients and with trust we can move forward to solve your problems and concerns.

Integrative

I approach mental and physical health from an integrative perspective. The mind and body are connected and I embrace many alternative/integrative therapies.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I approach patients with the importance of being present and willing to move forward in a healthy way regardless of where they are starting from and where they need to go to be healthier.
