Hi I'm Lauren, I am a Therapist and Coach who provides attachment-based, emotion-focused care and cognitive techniques with a specialty in doing intuitive art as a way to healing, empowerment and self expression. I've been a therapist for over 20 years and find great purpose in my work with clients of every age and lifestyle seeking relief from burnout, personal struggles and the desire to live a more authentic life. I bring a great deal of life wisdom, enthusiasm and understanding along with my clinical skill. I support clients to integrate and share their true expression - to help clarify their needs and move out of feeling stymied and unfulfilled. Talk therapy with me can include gently guided art, movement, and writing to get out of the fog and into clarity and forward momentum.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we'll have Introductions. It is the beginning of creating a trusting relationship and a safe space to share. I'll gather background information and we'll identify your needs. I'll answer any practice questions you may have and get started with clearing a path forward.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Some of my strengths are compassion, re-framing, humor, an ability to create a space place in which people can speak vulnerably and deeply so we can discover the best way to approach and solve issues. I enjoy introducing people to and facilitating creative expression. I am a movement and expressive arts facilitator and use dance and art as therapeutic venues for myself and others. A deep sense of spirituality and holistic perspective underlies my work.

My treatment methods

Mind-body approach

I support clients to integrate an increasing understanding and acceptance of themselves and to remove blocks using mind-body practices and insight. I also use art and movement practices to deepen experience and connection to self. I use cognitive-behavior tools to highlight how our thinking impacts our mood, emotions and behaviors. I work with clients to relate with kinder and healthier inner dialogue so they can transform feelings of inner conflict, loneliness and disconnection. When we have a greater understanding of our self and our needs and can practice staying connected with our personal value, we live our life more authentically and with more freedom.

Humanistic

I am a compassion centered therapist. I work to help people to remove blocks that interfere with being who they want to be and have the relationships they want. I support clients to replace anxiety and depression with self affirming experiences and to deepen their understanding of themself and their relationship to their world.
