Over the last 7 years as a practicing therapist, my passion has been to help people realize their strengths and abilities through therapy to improve their overall quality of life. Serving as a therapist has become an extension of who I am and I continue to be passionate about normalizing mental health and therapy! My goal is to meet each person were they are at with compassion and empathy in order to build a safe place in therapy to help facilitate change. I have been trained to use an integrative approach when it comes to therapy by incorporating a variety of treatment methods and techniques to find the most aligned solutions for you. Ultimately, my goal is to collaborate with you throughout our time together, because you know yourself best! As a family therapist by training, I work with individuals as well as different parts of a family system. I currently work with individuals, ages 12+, and enjoy working with couples/families experiencing a variety of difficulties. My experience in intensive care settings, as well as outpatient therapy, comes with a wide range of knowledge, skills, and approaches to support different levels of symptoms you may be facing. Currently I specialize in supporting clients navigating symptoms related to anxiety, OCD, depression, and trauma.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions and explore what brings you to therapy. We may also start to discuss a brief history of symptoms, life experiences, etc. -- as well as initial goals you have in mind. We will continue engaging in these discussions through the second session to create a tailored plan of goals to focus on during follow-up sessions.
- Identifying the core causes and experiences behind client challenges and symptoms. - Creating a therapeutic relationship/environment that leads to impactful "a-ha!" moments. - Providing restorative support in times of crisis and escalated emotions/thoughts. - Navigating transitions, including, but not limited to: marriage/divorce/break-ups, having a child/growing the family, sibling/parental conflict, adolescence into adulthood, high school into college, college into working life, etc.
I love working with adolescents and adults who are in different stages of life (and working through transitions), as well as couples/families in conflict. I believe it is important that clients are ready for change, even if they aren't sure what changes those are -- that's where I come in! My goal is to help you explore thoughts and feelings, make connections, and brainstorm/begin whatever changes you are willing to make.

I use cognitive behavioral therapy in treating anxiety and depression. Discussing how our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all connected helps us to find solutions for healing.
I have experience in treating whole families, parts of the family, and couples. I believe the family system and the individual directly impact each other, so sometimes treating the family can helpful in making even more progress.
I have been trained by the International OCD Foundation to use exposure treatment in treating OCD, as well as other types of anxiety/phobias. Exposure treatment has been researched to be the most effective in treating OCD, as it helps to retrain our body to handle anxiety more effectively.
I have been trained in Trauma-Focused CBT to treat different levels of trauma. This type of treatment has been researched to be effective with children, adolescents, and adults as they move through traumatic experiences and build effective, sustainable coping skills.
