Over the last several years as a practicing therapist, my passion has been to help others improve their quality of life by building awareness of their strengths and abilities through therapy. Serving as a therapist has become an extension of who I am and I continue to be passionate about normalizing mental health and therapy! My goal is to provide a safe place in therapy to help facilitate change with compassion and empathy. I have been trained to use an integrative approach by incorporating a variety of treatment methods and techniques to provide the most aligned solutions for you. Ultimately, my goal is to collaborate with you throughout our time together, because you know yourself best! As a family therapist by training, I work with individuals as well as different parts of a family system. I currently work with individuals, ages 13+, and enjoy working with couples/families experiencing a variety of difficulties. My experience in intensive care settings, as well as outpatient therapy, provides me a range of knowledge and skills to support different levels of symptoms you may be facing.
We will explore what brings you to therapy and create a tailored plan of goals to focus on through out our time together. My goal is for you to learn skills to manage emotions, increase your ability to engage in self compassion, and learn more about what a fulfilling life would look like for you!
- Identifying the core causes and experiences behind your challenges and symptoms. - Creating a therapeutic relationship/environment that leads to impactful "a-ha!" moments. - Providing restorative support in managing distressing emotions and crisis situations. - Navigating transitions, including, but not limited to: marriage/divorce/break-ups, having a child/growing the family, sibling/parental conflict, adolescence into adulthood, high school into college, college into working life, etc.
I enjoy working with adolescents and adults who are in different stages of life (and working through transitions), as well as couples/families in conflict. My goal is to help you explore thoughts and feelings, make connections, and identify commitments you are willing to make to help improve your life.
Christine Mattingly-Jones offers therapy covered by Blue Cross Blue Shield - Medicaid and UCare - Medicaid in Minnesota.
I use cognitive behavioral therapy in treating anxiety and depression. Discussing how our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all connected helps us to find solutions for healing.
I have experience in treating whole families, parts of the family, and couples. I believe the family system and the individual directly impact each other, so sometimes treating the family can helpful in making even more progress.
I have been trained by the International OCD Foundation to use exposure treatment in treating OCD, as well as other types of anxiety/phobias. Exposure treatment has been researched to be the most effective in treating OCD, as it helps to retrain our body to handle anxiety more effectively.
