Hi! I'm Stacy. Do you ever struggle with memories from past experiences you've had? Do you have problems managing symptoms of anxiety and/or depression? How about trouble focusing or concentrating on tasks? I work with adults who struggle to cope with past traumatic (or emotionally overwhelming) experiences. I believe that our past experiences (good and bad) shape how we handle situations today. I use a patient-centered approach to focus on what is important to you. I have almost 7 years of experience working with military service men and women, veterans, first responders, and civilians with trauma, anxiety, and depression. I also really enjoy working with Step mom's because I am one myself. Asking for help is not an easy task, but I want you to know that I want to help you. I want to be a part of your team and support you through whatever life is throwing at you.
In our first session, we will complete brief introductions. After that, we will dive into your history and identify area's that you currently want to work on.
I am direct and honest with my patients. I am also really laid back and easygoing. While I can be serious and validate the hardest life experiences you've had, I try and add laughter to every session. We need to learn in therapy and I believe that we learn best when we are having fun.
Adults who have experienced trauma, military, veterans, and first responders. I also really enjoy working with blended families and step mom's.
If you are interested in Christian based counseling, please let me know during your intake and I will incorporate Biblical practices into our sessions.
Our thoughts and emotions have a huge impact on our behaviors. Finding the connections can be extremely beneficial in changing maladaptive behaviors.
I think DBT is very important for people of all ages and backgrounds. I primarily use DBT interventions in therapy sessions.
At this time, I do not offer EMDR via telehealth, but I am actively seeking options to make that a possibility.
