Hi there, my name is Holly. Have you ever felt like you are stuck in a rut and don't know how to move forward? Have you ever felt like you need someone to talk to, but don't want to share with your friends and family? My personal belief is that all people can benefit from therapy. Whether you are dealing with a stressful job, difficulties with family, or just navigating living life in the world. Everyone, including you, can find some benefit in therapy. I hope to help end the stigma that therapy is only for people who have a "problem" I aim to provide support for all people, no matter where you are in life. I value the trust and respect that can only be gained over time. If you feel that we may be a good fit, I would love to have the opportunity to get to know you more! Please reach out if you are interested in a sliding scale for cash payments.
People can expect during our first session for us to spend time getting to know each other. I feel that it is important that not only do I spend time getting to know you, but that you also feel that you have the opportunity to ask me questions and get to know me. Building a strong therapeutic relationship is an essential part of the work that we do. Feeling comfortable and that you can be open with your therapist without judgement is critical in being able to work towards achieving your goals.
One of my strengths is my experience. I have lived experience as an LGBTQ person with chronic health conditions. I also have experience working with community mental health work. This experience has shown me the importance of how a person's environment impacts their life. I am open to working with all people and offer a non-judgmental space for you to feel heard.
My interests are working with LGBTQ individuals, disability/chronic illness, and other marginalized communities.
I believe in taking a whole-person approach that focuses on the individual and their specific strengths, needs, and their surrounding environment. I utilize techniques from many theories including Strengths Based Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Person Centered Therapy.
