Hello, my name is Yashira. I have worked with families for over 6 years and helped them improve their lives in many ways through motivation and empowerment. Additionally, I have specialized in child development and behavior modification; this includes therapy that improves symptoms that have started after a stressful event. I help parents and families communicate in different ways in order to promote wellness.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, you can expect a warm greeting. All sessions are confidential. You will explain your priorities for the sessions, and we will discuss goals for the future. A history of the concerns and health are taken into consideration and confidentiality as well as any assessments can be completed in the first session. In general, I will always go with the client's needs at the moment. I believe in parents being the expert of their children's lives.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am dedicated to improving family's lives through empathy, open communication, respect, and evidence-based practices. I thrive seen my clients heal. I have an open mind to different perspectives and have a positive personality.

My treatment methods

Child Parent Psychotherapy

I use CPP to help families navigate stressful experiences. Through this, families heal and grow in communication and clarity of symptoms.

Parent-Child Interaction (PCIT)

I help families learn how their child communicates through play. Child behaviors are a communication and with special time, your child will start improving their behavior.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I help children modify negative, unhelpful thoughts, emotions and behaviors that result from childhood traumatic experiences. All materials use age-appropriate language, skills building and examples. I include psychoeducation for the parent while teaching new skills, including effective parenting, stress-management, and communication.
