About me

Hello, my name is Yashira. I have worked with families for over 6 years and helped them improve their lives in many ways through motivation and empowerment. Additionally, I have specialized in child development and behavior modification; this includes therapy that improves symptoms that have started after a stressful event. I help parents and families communicate in different ways in order to promote wellness.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, you can expect a warm greeting. All sessions are confidential. You will explain your priorities for the sessions, and we will discuss goals for the future. A history of the concerns and health are taken into consideration and confidentiality as well as any assessments can be completed in the first session. In general, I will always go with the client's needs at the moment. I believe in parents being the expert of their children's lives.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am dedicated to improving family's lives through empathy, open communication, respect, and evidence-based practices. I thrive seen my clients heal. I have an open mind to different perspectives and have a positive personality.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

If you are a parent struggling with your child's behavior or school performance and need assistance and techniques to better your family's life, reach out to me. Through different strategies, your child can have decreased defiance, increased respect for house rules, improved behavior in public, and increased parental calmness and confidence during discipline. Additionally, through Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TFCBT), I can help your child tell his/her story and understand the child's perspective. This improves family relations and parent guilt. Healing begins after this.
