Are you a chronic overthinker? Feel like a black cloud follows you wherever you go? Struggle to focus or motivate yourself in your daily life? Do you find yourself stuck worrying about worst-case scenarios? Feel alone & overwhelmed with fears? If you relate to any of these questions, you have come to the right place. My name is Alyssa and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I have been a therapist for 6 years after graduating with my Master’s Degree from Chestnut Hill College in 2017 & also have a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from Gettysburg College. Join me in a journey to living your best life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will have brief introductions and focus on your expectations from therapy as well as touch base on any previous counseling you may have received to identify strategies that were successful or not. We will review presenting symptoms and struggles that have brought you to my virtual doorstep.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Through active listening, I cultivate a space that is safe and non-judgmental. I am interested in your story and ready to engage with you to provide a path to the future. My greatest strength as a provider is that I love the work that I do and that shows in my level of investment to you on our clinical journey together.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I primarily use CBT to help clients identify irrational thoughts and fears that keep them locked in an anxious state. I have been using this method since 2017.

Humanistic

I primarily use a humanistic approach to assess needs that are either being met or not, the first time they meet with me. I also use It in the therapy process to gain self awareness. I have been using this method since 2014.

Attachment-based

I primarily use the attachment-based approach to build a strong alliance with the client and rebuild trust in the clients interpersonal relationships. I have been using this method since 2014.

Daialectical Behavior (DBT)

I primarily use DBT to help clients with emotion regulation or for self destructive behaviors. I incorporate mindfulness and collaborate with the client to do body mapping so that the client can identify how their body experiences certain emotional states. I have been using this method since 2017.
