Hello there! My name is Adriana Soriano a bilingual (Spanish-English) LCSW born and raised in Southern California. Contemplating therapy? Let’s take this journey together towards emotional and spiritual wellness, a commitment to positive change. I believe as the client increases self-awareness, they then can begin to see growth and experience self-actualization, the ability to become the best version of one self. This progression forward, can be transformative in mind, body and spirt. It is also my belief that someone’s present reality may be influenced by memories of past experience, including early adversities, in turn affecting a person’s current perceptions of the world and others, as well as expectations for the future and interpersonal interactions.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you’re facing. This will help me create a tailored plan to work through. In follow-up sessions, I will continue to work cooperatively with you toward agreed upon therapeutic goals while being as open and honest as comfort and trust allow, strengthen power relationship factors within therapy and continue to foster the therapy alliance through empathy towards your feelings and struggles.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I absolutely love the life I live and love what I do. I learn daily from my client’s capacity for positive change and the great strengths of the human spirit. I enjoy helping others with their life journey, creating a passage towards peace/tranquility, personal empowerment, and growth and healing. Navigating through the process of healing can yield insight and facilitate an avenue to a new brighter path, allowing one to live their life in a more genuine and authentic fashion, recovering the strength of one’s true self and finding relief and equanimity. As David Richo said, “Our wounds are often the opening into the best and most beautiful part of us.”

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy, or CBT, is a type of psychotherapeutic treatment that helps people identify and change automatic negative thoughts or reactions. It can use CBT to help clients identify, challenge, and replace these thoughts with more realistic and objective ones. CBT has been shown to be an effective form of treatment for a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety, substance use, and more. As part of therapy session, CBT is also used during session to collaboratively discuss, problem-solve, and build skills around client’s identified problems.
