Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in California. I received my Master's from the University of Texas and have been practicing for 30 years. I help people struggling with trauma heal these wounds primarily through EMDR. Life is exciting and beautiful. And, at the same time it can be painful and chaotic. There are parts of us who want to run away, who want to feel better, or just want to give up. Many of us have the pieces of our puzzle, but we may be looking for a missing piece, or cannot see the full picture. That is where my passion to come alongside you belongs. I enjoy looking at the pieces together with you, putting them into perspective, curiously looking for a missing piece, and finding the spot that “fits best” and feels right. My strategy is to collaborate with you because “you know you best.”

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will start with brief introductions, review expectations, answer questions, then dive into specific challenges you are facing. This will help create a tailored plan/goals for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strengths are collaborating with my clients and utilizing EMDR to desensitize and reprocess life's issues and difficulties. I work with clients from traumatic childhood histories. I work with clients that have been in foster care and adoption. Also, clients who have single incident traumatic events such as car accidents, natural disasters, as well as childhood abuse and neglect. I work with clients with dissociative issues. And, other issues such as depression, anxiety, grief and loss (death, divorce).

My treatment methods

EMDR

EMDR - Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a mental health treatment technique. This method involves moving your eyes a specific way while you process traumatic memories. EMDR's goal is to help you heal from trauma or other distressing life. experiences.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

IFS therapy is based upon the idea that every person has multiple sub-personalities which can be in conflict with each other. This can lead to problematic habits and behaviors. The goal of IFS therapy is to help people identify and accept the different parts of themselves and heal the parts that are wounded.

Attachment-based

Attachment-based therapy is an approach to therapy that specifically targets those thoughts, feelings, communications, behaviors, and interpersonal exchanges that patients have learned either to suppress and avoid or to amplify and overemphasize because of early attachment experiences.
