I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over thirty years of social work experience working with clients ages 18 and over through providing individual therapy and social work services for individuals in the community. We all go through life changes and transitions that cause feelings of depression and anxiety.

My greatest strength as a provider is my ability to be direct, emphatic, and accepting to each person's personal journey.

I will provide a warm, safe, and nurturing environment for you to share your deepest concerns, thoughts and feelings.

First session

The first step in therapy is the hardest step. I want to invite you to take the first step with me and to experience how much joy therapy can introduce in your life. The first session together we will complete a psychosocial assessment and treatment plan so that you begin working on the goals that you desire.

Strengths

My greatest strength as a provider is my ability to be direct, emphatic, and accepting to each person's personal journey. I provide interventions and coping skills that will help you in your daily life. Due my years of experience in case management, I have a wide range of information related to the resources that are available in the community. I have worked with various populations including teenagers, individuals with developmental disabilities and the elderly.

Ideal clients

I enjoy working with individuals who are struggling with ADHD, Trauma, Depression and anxiety and addiction concerns I also enjoy working with couples that are struggling to reconnect and have infidelity concerns.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have utilized Cognitive behavioral therapy in all modalities of therapy. I also have participated in multiple trainings to enhance my knowledge.

Attachment-based

I utilize this therapy modality when processing individual concerns and with couples therapy.

EMDR

I am EMDR trained and provide therapy for individuals that want to process their trauma and decrease their distress Currently I am receiving consultation to become certified

I read about her online and she worked with every issue I was going through! When I have my first session I learned the not only does she work with the areas I need the most help with she cares, she is intelligent, and most of all she has listened without judgment. You can write a book with my history I explained that to her and she is still willing to help me.

Joanna is kind and thoughtful and helps me find ways to cope with my issues. She also allows me the space to figure out what I need and doesn't push me too hard to get out of my depression but instead encourages me by sharing different methods and ideas. I enjoy our sessions every week and feel she has made a huge difference in how I handle my depression and all of my health issues. She also reminds me how much I have been through and how far I have come which I need to be reminded of regularly.
