Hello there. I am a somatic therapist, specializing in guiding folks through trauma processing. I help folks learn about their ANS, autonomic nervous systems, to facilitate deeper healing. It is almost impossible to truly heal without integrating the body. I utilize mindfulness, PolyVagal Theory, Somatic Experiencing, IFS, and psychoeducation to support my clients. Healing is possible. Healing takes time. Healing takes intention and dedication.
In our first session you can expect to engage in conversation about your strengths and capabilities that will lend to your healing. We will explore some of your history and begin to notice what areas are in need of therapeutic attention. You can ask me questions about myself, my practice, and my lens of practice. We will explore what tools and internal resources you already have and begin to make a list. I would like you to share how you would know that our sessions are working for you.....what would you notice is different.
Presence, integrity, authenticity, and deep knowledge of the autonomic nervous system and how to integrate the body into healing.
My clients have a history of traumatic experiences and are seeking to feel more alive in their daily lives. I best provide support to individuals who have areas of stability in their lives, have some coping skills, and are willing to be uncomfortable. I do my best work when folks are open to the experience, willing to learn about the protective parts of their trauma, and do not expect a quick fix. Often through the process of discharing trauma, individuals discover deeper connection to internal wisdom and spirituality.
Jessica Wulsin offers therapy covered by Health Plan of San Joaquin - Medi-Cal in California.
I completed my 3-year Somatic Experiencing certification in 2017 and have been practicing through this lens ever since. I incorporate mindfulness and IFS (Internal Family Systems) to support individuals in processing trauma while gaining a better understanding of their autonomic nervous systems.
Learning about your parts can support trauma healing. Together we learn about your parts, how they show up in your body, and how to engage with them in order to heal from past wounds.
