I’m Marion Rogers—a licensed professional counselor, licensed attorney, and Board Certified Coach. I specialize in working with individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, and life transitions, including those impacted by the juvenile justice or child welfare systems. With a unique background bridging mental health and law, I provide integrative therapy that meets people where they are—emotionally, culturally, and systemically. Whether you’re court-involved, experiencing a life-altering event, or simply feeling stuck, I offer a safe space to heal, grow, and reclaim your power. Together, we’ll build clarity, resilience, and a path forward that honors your story and supports your goals.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Starting therapy can bring up a lot of questions—and sometimes a little anxiety. That’s completely normal. My goal in our first session is to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and understood. We’ll start by talking about what brings you to therapy and what you're hoping to get out of it. There’s no pressure to share everything at once—this is your space, and you set the pace. I may ask some questions to get a fuller picture of your experiences, but more than anything, I’ll be listening—to your story, your goals, and your needs. I’ll also explain how I work, what confidentiality means, and answer any questions you might have about the counseling process. You’ll leave the session with a clearer understanding of what our work together can look like—and hopefully, with a sense of relief that you don’t have to figure things out on your own. This first step matters, and I’m honored to take it with you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

What sets me apart is the path I’ve walked to get here—and the people I’ve walked it with. Before becoming a licensed professional counselor, I served as a juvenile and family law attorney, advocating for youth and families caught in the justice and child welfare systems. I saw firsthand how trauma, systemic inequity, and emotional pain show up in courtrooms—but rarely get addressed with compassion and care. That’s what led me to pursue my master’s and doctorate in counseling—to be part of the healing, not just the advocacy. Now, I bring that dual perspective into every session. I understand both the emotional and systemic stress my clients are under. I know how it feels to try to navigate complex institutions while carrying invisible wounds. And I know that real healing requires more than coping skills—it requires being seen, heard, and empowered. With deep clinical training, legal insight, and a trauma-informed, culturally responsive approach, I offer my clients more than therapy—I offer understanding, strategy, and space to rebuild their sense of self.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My clients come from many different walks of life—some are youth involved in the juvenile justice system, others are adults managing grief, trauma, or anxiety, and many are navigating the emotional toll of legal or life transitions. But despite their differences, they often share a few important things in common: They’re carrying heavy emotional burdens—often silently. They’ve experienced systems that didn’t fully see or support them. They want something to change, even if they’re not sure where to start. They’re seeking safety, clarity, and healing in a space where they don’t have to explain their existence. Whether they’re coming in overwhelmed, cautious, or ready for transformation, my clients are resilient. They show up—sometimes unsure, often exhausted—but with the quiet hope that healing is possible. And together, we work to make that hope real.

My treatment methods

Integrative

“My approach to counseling is integrative, which means I tailor therapy to you rather than using a one-size-fits-all model. I draw from several proven methods—like cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care, and strength-based approaches—depending on what best supports your goals, your personality, and what you’re going through. Some people need practical tools to manage anxiety. Others need space to unpack trauma or make sense of a tough life transition. My job is to blend the right techniques at the right time, so you get a more personalized and effective experience. It’s flexible, collaborative, and rooted in what works best for you.”

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

“I’ll use tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you identify patterns in your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that may be holding you back. CBT gives you practical strategies to manage anxiety, depression, or stress. But I also go beyond CBT—I integrate other approaches so we’re addressing the whole you, not just your symptoms.”

Grief Therapy

Grief is deeply personal—and it doesn’t follow a set timeline. I use an integrative approach to grief therapy that blends supportive presence, trauma-informed care, and tools from narrative therapy, CBT, and mindfulness. Together, we’ll make space for your loss while helping you find a path forward.”

Motivational Interviewing

Sometimes we know we want to change—but getting there feels hard. I use motivational interviewing to help you explore your reasons for change without pressure or judgment. Whether you’re stuck, unsure, or scared to start, we’ll work together at your pace with honesty, compassion, and direction.”

Person-centered (Rogerian)

At the heart of our work is a safe, nonjudgmental relationship. I bring in person-centered therapy to make sure you feel truly seen and heard. You set the pace, and I walk beside you with empathy and support. Along the way, I may use other tools—like CBT or motivational interviewing—to help you reach your goals.”
