Hi! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Maryland. I received my Masters from Lancaster Bible College/Capital Seminary and Graduate School and have been practicing for 5 years. I help adult couples and individuals dealing with trauma/PTSD, anxiety, depression, and marital/relationship issues to heal and thrive. I take a diverse and adaptable approach to counseling, creating a safe and supportive environment for clients. I equip individuals with tools and empower them to apply the skills they acquire, promoting their personal growth and well-being.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll introduce ourselves, and then identify the specific challenge(s) you're facing. This will help me create a roadmap customized to your challenge(s) for us to work through in subsequent sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Over the past 5 years, I have had the opportunity to work with numerous adults, gaining valuable experience in providing support and guidance. As a result of this experience, I have honed reliable evidence-based strategies designed to assist you in pinpointing the underlying causes of your challenges and crafting a customized plan of action that will yield tangible and measurable outcomes.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Over the past 5 years, I have been utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). This approach is beneficial for clients in addressing and reframing intrusive thoughts, as well as managing their anxiety. Through CBT, we will explore the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This understanding will empower you to challenge and reframe automatic negative thoughts, leading to a less anxious and stressed life. KNo

Couples Counseling

As a Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts (SYMBIS) Facilitator, I work with pre-engaged, engaged, and newly married couples, using the premarital assessment to help them prepare for marriage. We will collaborate to address multiple aspects of your life, including finances, expectations, personalities, communication, and mindset. There is a lot that happens in life after the "high" of the wedding day, and this premarital program is an excellent resource to help you get started on the right foundation.

Christian Counseling

I work with clients and the struggles in life they face, incorporating both faith and mental health from a Biblically-informed perspective. Knowing whose and who you are is vital to your well-being. We will collaborate to use spiritual resources, Bible teachings, and spiritual disciplines while utilizing evidence-based clinical techniques.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I've been utilizing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for the past four years and have found it to be a versatile evidence-based approach that assists clients in enhancing their lives in various ways, such as distress tolerance, emotion regulation, mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, and adaptability. By employing DBT, individuals can experience benefits such as reduced anxiety, depression, trauma, stress symptoms, as well as diminished suicidal and self-harming thoughts and behaviors.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

EFT is a therapeutic approach that can assist couples in improving their relationships and strengthening their emotional bonds. Through EFT, I will work with you as a couple to: understand attachment styles, improve communication, identify negative patterns, increase self-regulation, create a safe space, and build empathy.
