Hello! My name is Ryan Humphries, and I am a full time Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) here in Georgia. I got my Masters in Counseling (MACN) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and have been practicing therapy here in Georgia for about 9 years. I work with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance abuse issues (remember, to participate in virtual therapy, I need you to be at least 6 months clean, first.), as well as other life issues. I also work with couples, and with other relationship concerns to help clients improve relationships, and to become the best version of themselves. Together we will work on burnout, empathy, strengths, and use a positive psychotherapy modality to improve these and other aspects of yourself to feel better in general.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Having worked with anxiety and addictions, and couples counseling for the past 9 years, I've developed a tried-and-true playbook for helping you (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress, while learning new coping skills, ways to improve your happiness, and learn new ways to support yourself, everyday.
I have been trained and used Positive Psychotherapy (PPT) for the past 9 years. With PPT, we look for your strengths, and look to see how we can exercise and aim your strengths to help achieve your goals.
With Mindfulness based therapy, I will help you learn to be more mindful, and look at ways to improve your felt well-being. We will use these to help you feel happier!
