Welcome! My name is Chantell, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and EMDR certified therapist. My goal is to provide a warm, welcoming, and safe environment where you can develop the tools to strengthen your sense of self and find balance. I am here to support you on your journey, whether you are struggling with negative thoughts, processing trauma, or navigating life's changes. Together, we will identify and cultivate healthy patterns and behaviors that will empower you to achieve your therapeutic goals. I look forward to connecting with you and learning more about how I can support your personal growth!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I am looking forward to our first session. Our initial meeting will focus on getting to know one another, building trust, and establishing a collaborative foundation for our work together. We will briefly cover housekeeping items, then dedicate the majority of the session to discussing what brings you to therapy and your goals for our time together. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is key to success, so please feel free to ask any questions you may have to ensure that we are a good fit.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My therapeutic approach is gentle and relational, centered on creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you will feel validated, heard, and understood. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship and am committed to working collaboratively with you. Together, we will empower you on your journey and develop practical tools to help you cope with and navigate life's challenging moments.  Furthermore, I am committed to providing affirming and supportive care to all my clients. In my clinical experience, I have worked with diverse clients, including members of the LGBTQ+ community and individuals from various racial, ethnic, gender, and socioeconomic backgrounds. I understand that everyone's experiences are unique, and I am dedicated to listening to, collaborating with, and supporting you.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am pleased to offer my services to individuals ages 18 and older. My areas of specialization include anxiety, depression, and trauma, among others. I find it particularly rewarding to work with clients who are open to self-reflection, eager to learn and implement new skills, and willing to engage in a deep and meaningful exploration of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

My treatment methods

EMDR

EMDR is a memory-based therapy that focuses on how memories are stored in our nervous system, rather than the events as they occurred. This approach allows the brain to resume its natural healing process and reprocess memories in a way that lessens its emotional impact. I am trained in the Somatic and Attachment Focused (S.A.F.E.) EMDR approach. This means that we will also address how trauma manifests in the body and work through any attachment wounds.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) extensively in my practice. Together, we will identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns and core beliefs, working to modify them into more positive and healthy ones. This process can lead to increased self-confidence, improved conflict resolution skills, and the development of practical coping mechanisms for life's challenges.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

In our sessions, we will utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to equip you with practical tools for regulating your nervous system when you experience dysregulation or activation due to a disturbance or traumatic event. By implementing these techniques, you can foster improved relationships, enhance your ability to remain mindful, focused, and present, and develop stronger emotional regulation skills. These skills are invaluable in challenging harmful thoughts, feelings, and emotions.
