My name is Karla Pizano, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) passionate about supporting individuals on their journey. Currently I’m licensed in California. I integrate evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT). Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT focuses on addressing negative thoughts that lead to negative outcomes and behaviors which cause distress. CBT works well for individuals suffering from anxiety, depression and addictions.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT focuses on addressing intense emotions that lean to distress and cause issues in ones relationships. DBT work on building acceptance, mindfulness, and emotional regulation.

Motivational Interviewing

MI is typically a short term therapy practice that helps individuals with processing ambivalent feelings and insecurities to find motivation for positive change.

Trauma-Focused CBT

TF-CBT focuses on working through trauma. TF-CBT uses sensitive approaches to process trauma and learning coping skills such as relaxation, affective regulation, trauma narrative. TF-CBT works well for individuals with trauma (war veterans, individuals who experienced abuse, domestic violence).

Interpersonal

IPT focuses on improving relationship and socialization to alleviate emotional distress. IPT works well for issues such as; stressful life events, grief, disputes with others, life transitions, and social isolation.
