Greetings! I am licensed professional counselor Tiesha White and it has been a privilege to provide therapy and advocate for my clients over the past 8 years. I earned my Masters degree in counseling from Dallas Baptist University as well as a Bachelors degree in social work from the University of Texas at Arlington. I have a radical passion for community and serving others; helping individuals, youth, and couples identify hope and re-write their stories. My experience ranges from working with children and families within foster care for over 15 years as well as working in behavioral health hospitals and clinics.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Clients can expect to be affirmed and reassured that their step towards therapy with me is a safe space; along with being introduced to my style of therapy and areas of competency. Initially, the client will be engaged in learning more about their history and presenting problem or concern; while together developing treatment goals. Lastly client is engaged in emotion identification and mindfulness based stress reduction activity as well as an initial self-care or lifestyle homework assignment.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am committed to lifestyle therapy including various mindfulness based stress reduction therapeutic models which aims to help clients identify coping mechanisms they find encouraging and/or pleasurable of which they can engage in on a daily basis beyond counseling sessions. Helping clients to gradually unpack their trauma and being trained in evidenced based models that help me share interventions and teach coping skills that clients will not see as just therapy session tools. I strive to help clients identify healthy and unhealthy patterns, develop boundaries, build and maintain healthy relationship skills as well as their strengths, and learn effective communication, and advocate for themselves.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Everyday is a fresh start! I work best with clients who gain inspiration from a warm and accountable space where they are affirmed. My clients are seeking to identify their existence and purpose aligning their level of self awareness and esteem; as well as address abandonment and attachment issues. It is my aim to aid clients in prevailing to their highest level of potential beyond their depression, anxiety, relationship conflicts. Honing in on a clients strengths no matter their level of development or disability; the goal is for all clients to find value within themselves, letting go, and utilize coping skills learned to lead a lifestyle that is therapeutic and inspiring for them.

My treatment methods

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Everyday is a fresh start! It is inevitable that we all desire to connect and through a person centered approach using CBT as a clinician I aim to engage my clients to engage in their mind, body and spirit taking a mindfulness approach to treatment. Relax, refresh, re-YOU! Visual guided imagery, breathe work, narrative therapy, and engaging the senses I aid clients in being a part of their own experience and not just doing what life requires us to do; that is to keep pushing through all that we have to do and not focus on self care and aiming to be the best version of ourselves daily. Each session is filled with mindfulness based stress reduction with homework and ways to incorporate these habits into your daily lifestyle. Each year the clinician takes a training to better advance and continue in this area of competency.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Each session the client is empowered to give themselves voice through the clinician engaging them in motivational interviewing and existential questions and activities that will help the client work towards acknowledgement and self growth.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

The client is engaged identifying behavioral patterns and emotional mapping to provide client with a greater outlook on where they are and to establish goals and activities with the client in efforts to help them strive towards emotional awareness and the ability to use emotion regulation skills learned.
