Hi, I’m Joy—a mental health strategist and licensed professional counselor who believes healing doesn’t have to mean losing yourself. My work blends evidence-based approaches like CBT and ACT with real-life storytelling and practical tools, so you can actually apply what we talk about outside the session. I specialize in helping high performers, leaders, and everyday people who feel “stuck” untangle old patterns, face uncertainty with confidence, and build a life that feels sustainable. Therapy with me is equal parts honest, supportive, and empowering—I’ll challenge you, but I’ll also cheer you on.
Our first session is all about getting to know you—not just your struggles, but your story, your strengths, and what brought you here. You don’t have to have all the answers. You don’t even have to know exactly where to start. My job is to create a space where you can exhale—a space that’s judgment-free, pressure-free, and centered on your needs. Here’s how it’ll go: We’ll talk about what’s been on your mind lately and what led you to seek support. I’ll ask some guiding questions to better understand your background and goals. We’ll explore what you want out of therapy and set a direction that feels right for you. Most importantly, we’ll go at your pace. Whether you need to process something heavy or just get a feel for the space—I’m here for it. You’ll leave the session with clarity, compassion, and a sense that you don’t have to carry it all alone anymore.
I blend real-life strategies with deep emotional work, helping you not just talk about your struggles—but actually move through them. What makes my approach different? Relatable & Rooted – I meet you where you are, using plain language, cultural awareness, and zero pretense. You won’t find any therapy jargon here—just real talk and real progress. Flexible Scheduling for Real Life – I offer Midnight Hour Sessions for night shift workers, students, and entrepreneurs, because healing should fit your schedule, not the other way around. Beyond the Surface – We go deeper than surface-level symptoms. Whether it's anxiety, burnout, relationship patterns, or major life transitions, I help you understand the “why” behind what you’re feeling and support you in creating new patterns that stick. Mind Meets Mission – I work especially well with people who are used to being the strong one—helpers, healers, creatives, and overachievers—guiding you from survival mode to intentional living. The result? You gain tools to feel more grounded, emotionally free, and confident in your own decisions—not just in session, but in real life.
I'm best positioned to serve clients who feel like they’re carrying a lot but can’t slow down—high performers, leaders, and everyday people who look “together” on the outside but feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected inside. Many of my clients come to me navigating life transitions, relationship stress, or burnout, and they’re ready to stop running on empty. If your goal is to untangle old patterns, learn healthier ways to manage stress and self-doubt, and start building a life that actually feels sustainable, I’m here to help you do that work.
it’s not about erasing the hard thoughts or forcing the feelings to disappear—it’s about learning to carry them without letting them run the show. I help people get clear on what really matters to them, and then we take small, doable steps in that direction. That way, even when fear or doubt shows up, they’re still moving toward the life they actually want.
When I bring Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) into the room, it’s all about helping clients catch the stories their mind is spinning on repeat. We look at the thought → feeling → behavior cycle and start untangling the knots. I teach people how to challenge those unhelpful patterns and swap them out for healthier ones, so instead of being stuck in “I’m the problem,” they can actually practice new ways of thinking and showing up that feel more freeing.

She truly heard me. A good listener is one thing, but to know you’ve really been heard is another. Therapy has truly changed for the better.

Joy was amazing. I was having a tough day and was contemplating not keeping my appointment because life was getting in the way that day. I am very happy that I did. She was knowledgeable and professional while still being warm and personable.
