Welcome! I am Loryn Chás, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) from Chicago, Illinois. I received my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Roosevelt University. After working in private practice for two years, I enrolled in Northern Illinois University to attain my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision. Now, four years into my clinical counseling work, I have received some pretty cool honors and professional counseling organization awards. In short, I love helping people live sustainable lives through awareness, acceptance, and freedom! My philosophy is “We are here to play and have fun, we are not here to suffer.” — Don Miguel Ruiz --
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
Our initial session will consist of building a rapport with one another, beginning with introductions and then explaining the therapeutic process. Next, we will cover confidentiality, cancellation policies, and my responsibility as a mandated reporter. After this, I will conduct a clinical assessment to understand your unique challenges. Finally, we will discuss your goals, treatment plan, and next steps.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My life is centered on finding ways to make life and the therapeutic process easy. In my short career, I have effectively worked with many clients using evidence-based approaches to exact healing. My passion for connecting with people is unmeasurable. Most importantly, I wholeheartedly believe in neuroplasticity, meaning everyone has innate skills to grow. I intentionally see you for your strengths and not your deficits. Therefore, I position myself as a guide. I will not walk too far ahead, nor will I walk too far behind. I take an active approach by walking slightly in front to help you achieve your goals. I am skilled in facilitating individual, couples, marriage, family, and group counseling.
Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.
I love investing in people who have a desire to invest in themselves! Yet, I also don’t mind giving a little nudge to those still figuring things out!
