I am passionate about helping people, not at a superficial level, but in a fundamental way. My desire is to help my patients overcome their issues, and not simply mask them, or improve them for some time. My goal is radical healing. Too often therapy is regarded both by professionals and patients as a lifelong ongoing process. My philosophy is different. I will work hard to bring about lasting change.
The first session focuses on information gathering as would be expected, but not simply collecting data. Rather I like to focus on the dynamics of the person's history; not just what happened and when, but rather how the patient's personal history informs their present and future experiences. The first session also focuses on informing the patient and explaining my therapeutic approach and what is expected from the patient.
My ability to observe and understand the unconscious dynamics of the patient's problem allow me to address issues at the root level.
I like to work with all kinds of individuals. I like working with motivated individuals who are ready to change from the start, but also with those that may be lacking the motivation or the drive to move forward and may need someone to be by their side. I enjoy a good challenge and I am honored by the opportunity to help someone in distress.
In order to bring about lasting change, I explore the depth of cognitive and behavioral origins of the patient's problems.
