Hello! I am Wendy Theriot,MA,LPC. I am available for in-person therapy Tuesday,Wednesday, and Thursday in San Antonio;I also see clients a few days a month in Austin,Texas. I specialize in EMDR which can help heal the brain and body from post traumatic stress, anxiety, physical pain, depression, eating disorders, addictions (honestly anything the client is living with that is hindering their life); I work mainly with Veterans and have worked with First Responders with PTSD. I also incorporate a person centered approach where empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard are essential. In addition to EMDR and person centered therapy I do offer a cognitive behavioral approach if preferred where the client and I look at specific patterns of behaviors, thoughts, and feelings that lead to either negative or positive feedback loops in their lives. I give "homework" that the client can then practice or use to see if those negative feedback loops change. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

You as the client will feel heard and respected while having guidance to direct your own life, diminishing the hold of trauma, depression, anxiety, and stress. There is power in the counseling process to work through even the most difficult life challenges, and I always consider it an honor when I can be a part of that Journey.
