My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Using a Cognitive approach I focus on intrusive thoughts as well as an exploration into whether family of origin may have an impact in the client’s experience. I sometimes use homework assignments to supplement the treatment as it relates to the issue.

Christian Counseling

I trust in God’s Word as the lens for interpreting psychological research. Using the method helps those clients wishing for the therapist to implement a Christian approach.

Attachment-based

Family of origin(birth family) can significantly impact how an individual develops both emotionally and psychologically. Without blaming or condemning parents I use tools to investigate how parents coordinated their emotions while the client was a child.

Couples Counseling

Having counseled couples for over 25 years and written a book on the subject of couples communication, I utilize my taking in the Gottman method. I am a trained 3rd level Gottman therapist.
