I am licensed in Virginia with 7 years of professional work experience. I have experience working from youth ages 4-17 and adults ages 18-60. I have experiences primarily working with individuals with anxiety, depression, adhd, trauma, and parenting concerns. I am a Christian (but not a Christian therapist) and can compliment that side of your needs if you so prefer allowing a safe environment for religious/spiritual challenges. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I like to inquire about your interests, concerns, and areas that brought you to therapy. Please bring your questions for me too, as I want to make sure we are a good fit for sessions. By allowing our first session to be an intro, you will be able to walk away feeling confident that you will find what you are looking for and a provider that is positive about your journey for self improvement and healing.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have worked within schools and client's homes providing community based treatment. I have worked in a psychiatric hospital setting. I'm strong in being able to assist teenagers and young adults with abilities to develop life skills, apply coping skills, and utilize mindfulness strategies. Although that is my strength population, I am excited to work with all ages throughout whatever your mental health journey may be.

My treatment methods

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness Therapy can be utilized in a multitude of ways. I use mindfulness methods in my practice to help with establishing a better daily functioning, bringing awareness to areas you may not have recognized prior at which point you can/may implement skills that are practiced and taught in therapy. I have introduced mindfulness with individuals that struggle with anxiety, stress, depression, and trauma.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT allows and offers ways of understanding how our cognitive thoughts are connected to our behavior and vice versa. I utilize worksheets and psychoeducation to assist with establishing understanding that goes into habits, interactions and replies with routine and other people in your life.
