The struggles that we deal with daily can be a heavy enough burden to carry, and when we compound these with life transitions or any other past trauma, it can be completely overwhelming. Stressors at home with family or loved ones, difficulties at school, bullying, truancy, challenges at work, relationship struggles or life transitions, it can all be difficult to navigate. If we go on too long without working through these issues, they can escalate into worse issues. Sometimes we may benefit from seeking help professionally. I’m here to help. I have experience of over 14 years in the areas of depression, anxiety, grief, anger, divorce, trauma, relationships, parent-child relational problems, and emotional/physical abuse. I have worked with individuals at all stages of life, diverse cultural, racial, and ethnic groups, English and Spanish speaking individuals, and families of all kinds. My education includes a Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, TX and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Texas in Denton, TX. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
My goal is to have you develop a deep sense of empowerment in yourself and have ownership of your life. I want you to feel solid and capable every step of the way so you're continually stronger than you were before. And with patience, hopefully you will begin to feel that your difficulties are manageable and that you have the skills to get through whatever comes your way.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
My role as a counselor is to be an empathetic listener and build trust and rapport through our relationship, providing a safe environment for the transmission of intimately private information to be disclosed and begin the process of healing. I believe the client has the answers within them.
