Greetings to you and thanks for stopping by. My name is LaShanda and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Georgia with over 10 years of experience. My background includes experience working with adults and children, however I only see adults at this time. I have worked with people on a large array of challenges/situations to include depression, anxiety, severe persistent mental illness and also integrated care (to name a few). My specialties include: depression, stress, life adjustment/changes, women's issues, infertility, self care and coping skills. I know sometimes it may feel like life has roads with many twists, turns, delays and detours. I also know that sometimes we simply may be in new territory, or in pursuit of new dreams and goals. I want you to know that wherever you may find yourself in this journey of life that I am here to offer you support. I am well versed in a number of different therapeutic approaches/treatment modalities, however I believe that there no one size that will fit all. So, we can work together to come up with the right support for your needs. Thank you for your time and I look forward to meeting you.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
Sessions may differ from client to client so the takeaways may differ. I may give out assignments or reflection areas between sessions, but it is based on if the client is open to it-when appropriate. I would say that clients takeaway hope and perhaps more insight/perspective into what they may have taking place on their life journey.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
I have an eclectic approach which may include: CBT, DBT, Solution Focused, Mindfulness, and the Person Centered approach.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I am kind and warm. I try to make therapy as painless as possible. I also understand it takes courage and a willingness to participate in therapy/counseling from the start.
