My name is Lauren DeTurk. I got my LPC license in May 2014. I have been working in the mental health field since I was 18 years old and am now 42 years old. I have worked as an outpatient therapist, mental health worker, TSS, case manager/Supports Coordinator, mental health practitioner, MST therapist, family based therapist, behavioral health specialist, and mobile therapist. I work with individuals, couples, and families using cognitive behavioral therapy and structural and strategic family therapy.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
In our first session together I will ask you questions regarding your mental health history and previous experience in therapy: what worked and what didn't work, so I can best help you.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I believe my biggest areas of strength are my empathic listening, years of experience working in the mental health field, unconditional positive regard for all of my clients, and eclectic approach to therapy.
