I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas who is currently offering virtual therapy sessions. I graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health. I've been providing therapy and therapy related services since 2010. Most of my experience is with Adults, however I have also worked with troubled teens. I started my own practice to have more freedom in my approach and to be able to focus on each individual with my virtual therapy sessions. Due to the current times we are in, I want more people to have easier access to therapy, even when they cannot make it to an office. The therapy I have provided has been in individual and group therapies. Also I have taught educational groups over various topics such as stress management, anger management skills, family dynamics, positive thinking skills, and conflict management.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session is relaxed and just gathering further history about you. The goal is for it to not be scary, since it does take a lot of courage to even schedule your first session. There are no right answers for you to give me and it is a safe place to let your guard down as much as you can with someone who is new to you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

The best way I can describe my strength as a counselor is that I am able to plant the seed, if you are able to water it. My background is working with those with substance abuse issues. Most of the work surrounded trauma and mental health issues that were not addressed for a prolonged period of time, which created more issues as years passed. With more focus on the ability to overcome, I feel that I can help facilitate the process of change to create more inner peace.

We will figure out core beliefs and the feelings tied to them and try to adjust them to a more positive perspective. This may ultimately lead to healthier actions and further self care.
