Greetings!! I’m Tashawn, Licensed Professional Counselor from the great state of Texas!!! I pride myself on meeting individuals where they are and working at their pace to achieve goals! I work with anyone looking for change or recovery. Therapy can be for a number of reasons including grief, trauma, depression etc. I have been blessed to assist with helping find the happy place for you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together I get any “house rules” out the way then it becomes about you. We can start wherever you are most comfortable! If you want to talk about me, lets do it. It you want to dive right into what brings you in to therapy, I’m open to that as well. This is about you from the moment we meet.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with individuals experiencing some kind of trauma or mental issue for the past 9 years, I've developed a tried-and-true playbook for helping you (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress. I move as swiftly or slowly as you require. This id your journey, I am just a helping hand.

My treatment methods

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Many do not want to travel back in time for relive previous events and experiences, which is perfectly understandable. This is where Solution Focused Brief therapy come in. We will focus on the current situation, process it and find solutions to move forward into the future. This method is most effective for short-term therapy and those who know their needs.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

To change your thoughts is to change your feelings and to change your feelings is the change of your behavior. Working through negative thoughts and feelings allows positivity to flow through your mind allowing for new experiences and ideas. When we are able to express positive emotions into ourselves, we move differently.

Couples Counseling

Couples therapy includes understanding and compassion for both parties. There are no right or wrong answers just need for commitment to acknowledgement and respect. With those two fundamental principles, changes can be achieved.

EMDR

EMDR trained by the EMDR Institute, the founding body of the modality.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

As you see, I am a multi-faceted therapist. In my experience, I find no one method fits all clients all the time. Therefore, we work together on a plan fit fot you and your current circumstances.
