Hello! My name is Katie and I am a licensed clinical social worker. I have over 10 years experience working with individuals who struggle with symptoms of anxiety, depression, burn-out, relationship issues and more. I have spent time in the field of social work fulfilling many different roles (scholastic, behavioral, medical, child-welfare) and am delighted to be able to now serve individuals in my private practice. I typically see people ages 18 and up and am happy to answer any questions you may have.
In our first session together, we will do a lot of information gathering and asking/answering questions. It is just as important for you to feel like I’m a person you’re able to connect with, as it is for me to feel comfortable building a therapeutic relationship with you.
As a provider (who is also a person), I am grateful for my ability to connect with others. I value empathy and compassion alongside education and experience. I believe that in order to have a successful therapeutic relationship, it is helpful to have a therapist who is knowledgeable in their field, but also relatable as a person. My approach is eclectic so the goal is that your experience will feel tailored to you, while maintaining therapeutic structure and boundaries. We will learn together!
Though I have experience working with people of all age groups, my current, primary focus is individuals ages 18 and over. I am licensed in Pennsylvania and am happy to provide both telehealth and in-person options if preferred.
I utilize CBT with clients to help expand their understanding of how their mindset and automatic thoughts impact their functioning.
I utilize ACT with clients to support healing and growth with interpersonal awareness and radical acceptance.
I tend to pull from several modalities to treat clients. I believe that therapy is not “one-size-fits-all” and that utilizing an eclectic approach to treatment allows for more thorough work.
I utilize the Humanistic approach to support clients in understanding themselves so that they can understand others.
I have been trained in TF-CBT and utilize it as needed with clients who are suffering from symptoms of post-traumatic stress and other trauma-related cognitive and emotional injuries.
