I am a Board Certified, Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) serving Florida with almost two decades of experience. While I've successfully worked with children, adolescents, and women, I am particularly dedicated to helping men achieve more fulfilling lives. Specializing in men’s unique challenges—whether in relationships, sexual health/ intimacy concerns, or performance in sports and careers—I provide a space where men feel understood and empowered to grow. I know the power of having someone who “gets it” and can navigate the issues that impact men today. Together, we work toward stronger connections, clearer purpose, and greater resilience, so that you can reach your full potential and live a life that you deserve. I'm a Caribbean native (St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands) and hold a B.A. in psychology from the University of Delaware, a M.S. in Counseling Psychology from Loyola College in Maryland (now Loyola University Maryland), a certificate in Sports Counseling from California University of Pennsylvania (now Pennsylvania Western University), a certificate in Sex Therapy from the University of Michigan, and am currently a Doctoral Candidate in Counselor Education & Supervision at the University of the Cumberlands. Additional credentials include being Board Certified as a National Certified Counselor, being a Certified Addiction Professional, and an Internationally Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we'll focus on getting to know each other and setting the groundwork for our work together. We will go over necessary paperwork and I'll ask you questions to understand your goals, challenges, and what brought you here. You can share as much or as little as you’re comfortable with. This session is all about creating a space where you feel respected, understood, and free from judgment. We’ll also outline expectations—what you can expect from me as your therapist and what I’ll expect from you in terms of commitment and openness. Together, we’ll establish a plan that aligns with your goals, setting a foundation of mutual respect and accountability. By the end of this first session, you’ll have a clearer idea of what our work will look like and a sense of direction.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength as a provider lies in my ability to understand and address the unique challenges clients face, particularly in relationships, sexuality, and performance. With over a decade of experience as a licensed mental health provider, I bring a depth of knowledge and a practical approach to overcoming these challenges. What makes me unique is my collaborative approach to therapy. I’m not just here to listen; I’m here to work alongside you, developing strategies, setting goals that resonate with where you want to go, and challenging you. As an African-American male of Caribbean descent, I bring a multiculturally aware perspective which helps me relate to clients on multiple levels and understand their specific challenges. I am genuinely rooting for you to win—whether that means reaching personal goals, building stronger relationships, or finding balance. My approach is supportive with a focus on providing the tools you need to implement in order to create lasting, meaningful change in your life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is one of the most researched treatment modalities and has been a large part of my practice throughout my career. CBT can be used for a wide variety of issues, including anxiety and even weight loss. Together we will explore how your thoughts impact your feelings and ultimately result in certain behaviors. We'll then use that knowledge to help you change your thinking patterns.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I believe that therapy should be time-limited; my goal is not to create a dependent relationship, but to help you learn skills to manage your current problems and future problems that may arise. Additionally, I believe that clients have the ability to be agents of change in their lives and work collaboratively with the therapist to achieve their goals for the future. This fits with Solution-focused, as it doesn't lend too much focus on the past, but rather facilitates problem solving and helps client look towards what their reality will look like once the problem is solved.

Integrative

While CBT and Solution-focused brief therapy are probably my most used treatment approaches, I will at times pull techniques from other therapeutic modalities if I think they can be a helpful. It's important to note that this is not just random, but is based in intentionality.
