As a clinician my intent is to engage clients in conversations that lead to change. I take a logical and participatory approach to therapy, harnessing the power of the mind to facilitate positive change. Inspired by the belief that thoughts shape reality, I help clients explore and challenge their thoughts to create transformative change. By fostering self-awareness, resilience, and coping skills, I support clients in navigating life's challenges with courage and flexibility, guiding them on a journey of self-discovery and growth in a safe, non-judgmental space. By providing clients with tools, insights, and support, I empower them to make informed decisions aligned with their values and aspirations.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session focuses on building rapport and fostering a welcoming atmosphere where you can feel at ease and truly listened to. You will be invited to openly express your thoughts, emotions, and worries. Together, we will delve into your values, beliefs, and motivations to identify goals, strengths, and areas of focus. By the end of the session, my goal is for you to feel understood, supported, and empowered to continue your path towards positive transformation and personal growth.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Information is the new currency and knowledge truly can facilitate personal power. I believe that quality information leads to quality decisions, and I am committed to sharing the tools, insights, and support needed to help you make informed choices and create a life that aligns with your values and aspirations.

My treatment methods

Group Therapy

As a clinician, I have implemented group therapy as a means of providing mental health counseling to individuals in recovery. This approach allows multiple individuals to come together in a supportive and structured environment to share their experiences, provide feedback, and learn from one another. By facilitating group discussions and activities, I help clients build connections, develop coping skills, and gain insight into their own challenges and strengths. Group therapy also fosters a sense of community and belonging, which can be beneficial for those in recovery who may feel isolated or disconnected. Overall, my goal is to create a safe and inclusive space where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings, receive support from their peers, and work towards their mental health goals.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

In providing individual therapy, I use a culturally sensitive approach by acknowledging and respecting the diverse backgrounds, beliefs, values, and experiences of each client. I begin by taking the time to learn about each client's cultural heritage, traditions, and identity to better understand how these factors may influence their thoughts, behaviors, and mental health. I strive to create a safe and inclusive space where clients feel comfortable expressing themselves and discussing their unique perspectives. I also adapt my therapeutic techniques and interventions to align with each client's cultural background and preferences. This may involve incorporating culturally relevant metaphors, rituals, or practices into the therapy process, as well as being mindful of any cultural taboos or sensitivities that may impact the therapeutic relationship. Additionally, I work to address any cultural biases or stereotypes that may arise in the therapy room, promoting open dialogue and mutual respect.

Mind-body approach

I use a mind-body approach to help clients explore the interconnectedness of their mental and physical well-being.

Psychoeducation

Overall, my goal in using psychoeducation is to empower clients with the knowledge and skills they need to make informed decisions, manage their symptoms effectively, and build resilience. By increasing their understanding of mental health and promoting self-awareness, I aim to support clients in achieving positive outcomes and improving their overall well-being.

Humanistic

As a clinician I facilitate a supportive and empowering environment where clients can explore their inner world, develop self-awareness, and work towards personal growth and self-actualization. By incorporating humanistic principles I may help clients cultivate a deeper sense of self-acceptance, authenticity, personal responsibility and well-being.
