Treatment methods and tools focus on providing comprehensive mental health care. These can vary based on the patient's needs but generally include a combination of the following: 1. Pharmacotherapy (Medication Management) Which include, • Antidepressants: SSRIs, SNRIs, TCA, MAOIs (for conditions like depression and anxiety). • Antipsychotics: Used for conditions like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and severe depression. • Mood Stabilizers: Common for bipolar disorder. • Anxiolytics: Medications such as benzodiazepines or buspirone for anxiety. • Stimulants: For ADHD. • Sleep aids: For patients with sleep disturbances related to mental health issues. Psychiatric Evaluation & Diagnosis • As a PMHNP, conducting thorough psychiatric evaluations is essential. This involves assessing the patient's medical, psychiatric, and family history and presenting symptoms. Diagnosis follows criteria from DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders).
Active Listening: I prioritize understanding the needs and concerns of those I interact with. This allows me to provide more tailored, thoughtful, and accurate responses. Adaptability: I adjust my responses based on the tone, preferences, and needs of the person I'm communicating with. Whether it’s a casual or more formal conversation, I adjust to ensure the exchange is as smooth and relevant as possible. Problem Solving: Whether it's helping with a specific task or offering guidance on a tricky subject, I enjoy breaking down complex issues and providing clear, actionable solutions.
