I am a independently licensed clinician, LMHC, in Massachusetts. I am currently doing telehealth only. My office hours vary by week, but I do offer session times before and after the traditional work week schedule to accommodate client needs. I love learning and relating with metaphors and quotes, so I will leave you with this one: “When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.” -Viktor Frankl

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will get to know each other. I want to know what's going on, what your expectations are, and then we will have a conversation about what we want to accomplish together in therapy. If nothing else, you will leave your first session feeling heard and validated. Then, together we create a plan on tackling your presenting problems.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having been in the field for almost 10 years, I feel my greatest strength as a clinician is looking at every new client and presenting problem from a place of empathy and non-jundgement while also having confidence, knowledge, and experience to bring to the table. If after the first session, it is clear that I am not able to meet your expectations or assist you with your presenting problem, I will help you find a clinician who is.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My main hope for therapy is to support humans as they navigate the complex world of human emotion, mental health, and relationships. A good life can be hard, complicated, and challenging while a difficult life can still be rewarding, fulfilling, and well-lived. I seek to join with those who are struggling with that complexity to help them achieve the goals they have for themselves, to help them cope with inherent disappointments, losses, and stressors, and feel the joy of personal growth.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

If you can change the way you think, it may help the way you feel. CBT is a simple yet effective way to improve mood by reframing our thoughts in a more productive way. I usually use CBT in conjunction with other methodologies.

Supportive

Supportive counseling is the foundation of my treatment. We take active listening, empathy, encouragment, and emotional processing to explore and understand ourselves and the world around us. This has proven to be a cornerstone of treatment in supporting others with improving self esteem.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing can help people when feeling stuck. With open ended questioning, affirmations, and reflecting and summarizing back to a client we will tackle insecurities, ambivalent emotions, and lack of direction.

Humanistic

Whatever your presenting problem is we will look at it through a humanistic approach...what does that mean? Its a genuine, mind, body, and spirit approach where the client has the freedom to guide sessions in a way they feel in control of the issues we tackle together. There is a special respect and grace placed on client's enviorment and back story that add important context to the presenting problems.
