Hello there, I am Jamey. Do you feel like there are just not enough hours in the day, or that you are being pulled in a million different directions? Do you feel like you are struggling to keep up with your relationships, your work, or your health? Sometimes when this happens, we tend to blame the person in the mirror. Fortunately, I am here to help you get over that hump. I strive to help you manage anxiety and avoid burnout. My goal is to help work together with you, and identify what is working well, and not so well, and help you find that balance you and so many others are looking for. I consider myself to be very adaptable to my clients, and work to find what works best specifically for you! I would also like to assure you, that you are not the only one feeling this way! Whether you are overwhelmed, having relationship issues, dealing with trauma, or cycles of anxiety and depression, I am here to help. If you are having trouble with your children, and are seeking input and new techniques, I would be glad to assist you. Seeking therapy can feel scary, but this is the first step towards making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I will meet you with empathy and compassion in a judgment-free zone, working with evidence-based techniques to help you overcome the hang-ups and habits holding you back. Let us work together!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will begin with introductions, a brief explanation of what to expect, then I would like to hear whatever you are comfortable sharing about yourself and your history, as well as what you would like to work on, including goals you would like to set for yourself. The objective of this session is to allow you to feel comfortable and relaxed and know I do not work off a script, but more free-flowing and adaptable to your personal needs and communication style.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

The approaches I lean on the most heavily are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Therapy, as they are both results oriented and empower the client. Mindfulness is an approach that I have found successful in that it allows me to be present and not show judgment regardless of what information is being shared. I also attempt to adapt to my client’s persona when building rapport, to allow them feel a sense of comfort, that does not feel forced or rushed.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As licensed therapists, we are counted on to have a tool belt of strengths and skills at our disposal. Strong communication skills take precedent and will play a key role in building and carryout our therapeutic relationship. These include both verbal and non-verbal skills. Patience is another area which we must practice in session, both the therapist and patient, and understand that issues take time and effort to overcome, while at the same time recognizing and celebrating small successes along the way. I also consider myself to be observant, non-judgmental, and confident in my abilities. I will do everything possible to utilize my listening skills to make sure you feel both heard and understood. I will refrain from judgment in an attempt for us to build a mutual trust and respect.
