What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Prior to our scheduled session, you will receive a welcome e-mail from me with information on how to connect with me on our first session and how to contact me should you ever have any questions or concerns. On the day of our first session, we will start with introductions and a quick check in with how you are feeling (some clients are eager and some are anxious during their first session). From there, we discuss your intake form and I will ask more in depth questions as needed so that I can get a bigger picture of who you are as a person. I like to focus on both limitations and strengths because it is important to know the you are more than just the issues that bring you in. Once the intake process is done, we will then discuss the reason that brings you into therapy and how I can help you in your mental health journey. From there, we will work together on identifying goals for our work together. Do not worry about remembering all of this, I will walk you through the process during the entirety of our initial session and always remember questions are always welcomed!

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Motivational Interviewing (MI) Culturally Sensitive Therapy Person-Centered Therapy Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Trauma-Focused Therapy Internal Family Structure (IFS) Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) trained

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strength as a clinician is diving into the uncomfortable feelings associated with trauma. My goal is to address the good, bad, and ugly so we can move forward to better and brighter days. In terms of trauma, I specialize in childhood and sexual trauma. I am of the firm belief that processing our trauma and closing that chapter of our lives allows us to look forward to a healthier future.
