Hi! I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor dedicated to helping individuals improve their mental health and gain a sense of well-being. Often times, we aren't living in the present. We're either stressed, depressed, anxious, too busy looking back on the past, or lost in thought with hopes for the future. This leaves us losing the ability to enjoy the present, and the present is what ends up creating our future, as well as creating the moments we will one day look back on. Together we will address the challenges you face, uncover your strengths, and cultivate new coping skills to help you be more present and navigate life's difficulties while gaining a greater ability to celebrate and appreciate life's successes. Through therapy, I aim to equip my clients with the necessary tools to regulate emotions, reduce anxiety, see other perspectives, and effectively cope with stress, ultimately enabling them to lead a more balanced life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session is all about getting to know you, what inspired you to seek therapy, and building a foundation. I understand that in the first session, while I am a licensed professional, I'm a new person to you and we don't yet know each other. Part of the first session includes getting to know what I can do to make you feel comfortable working with me. We will go over your expectations for treatment and your expectations for me, as well as my expectations for you. Obtaining your expectations, goals, and reason for seeking therapy will help me create a personalized plan to guide us as we work together. Sometimes I assign therapy homework to complete between sessions. This can help us maximize our time working together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am great at meeting people where they are at. My unique set of experience allows me to view situations and experiences from a variety of perspectives. I believe perspective plays a large role in the way we navigate the world, how we see ourselves and others, and how we make sense of our experiences. Together we can explore various viewpoints while I also take care to validate your thoughts and feelings. I have a warm and empathic approach, and I love giving people the boost and guidance they need to be the active author of their own story and create a happier life filled with a sense of well-being.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize CBT to assist clients in identifying patterns in their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I also utilize CBT techniques to help clients identify their triggers so we can work together to gain skills and tools for coping and self de-escalation. Once we identify a trigger, we can process the roots attached to it as well.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I utilize Mindfulness-Based therapeutic techniques to assist clients in learning how to be present. Mindfulness techniques assist clients in becoming more intentional and changing their automatic responses. Mindfulness can also be a helpful tool for combating anxiety, stress, and intense emotional reactions.

Positive Psychology

I utilize Positive Psychology concepts to assist clients in recognizing and focusing on the positives in their lives, practicing gratitude, and identifying strengths.
