Hi there, I am Eliana Gassette. I am an LMHC for more than 13 years. I speak English and Spanish. I am specializing in anxiety, ADHD, depression, and panic attacks. I love mixing cognitive behavior and conversation to get to the root of your struggles. Do you feel pulled in a million directions, unable to fit it all in? Are you struggling with your relationships, work, and health? Is it hard to be kind to yourself? I help high performers manage anxiety and increase self-confidence and self-esteem. Together, we can identify what's not working and get back to balance. We'll use a whole-self approach, addressing the needs of your mind, body, and spirit. I also integrate mindfulness to help you develop a stronger relationship with yourself. I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome your struggles. Let's work together! My website is https://www.focusmind.online

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first therapy session, clients can anticipate a structured and supportive environment designed to establish a strong therapeutic alliance. According to APA 7 guidelines (American Psychological Association, 2020), this initial session typically follows a particular format, ensuring a coherent and systematic approach. Intake and Assessment: The session begins with an intake process, during which clients are asked to provide background information, such as their personal history, current concerns, and any relevant medical or psychological history. This stage aims to gather necessary information to tailor the therapy approach appropriately. Informed Consent: Clients will be presented with an informed consent form, as per ethical guidelines (APA, 2020). This document outlines the therapeutic process, confidentiality, and client rights. Clients have the opportunity to ask questions and clarify any concerns. Goal Setting: During the first session, it is essential to collaboratively establish therapeutic goals. Clients are encouraged to articulate their desired outcomes, and the therapist provides insight into the potential treatment plan and duration. Establishing Rapport: Building a strong therapeutic alliance is fundamental in therapy (APA, 2020). Therapists aim to create a safe and non-judgmental space where clients feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and emotions. Assessment Tools: Depending on the therapeutic approach, various assessment tools may be utilized to gain a better understanding of the client's mental health status and needs. This may include self-report questionnaires or structured interviews. Initial Intervention: Depending on the client's presenting issues and the therapist's approach, some initial therapeutic interventions may be introduced. However, this may vary, and some therapists may prioritize assessment in the first session. Homework or Self-Reflection: Clients may be encouraged to engage in self-reflection or homework assignments between sessions to promote progress. Closure and Next Steps: The session typically concludes with a summary of what was discussed, an exploration of any insights gained, and a discussion of the plan for future sessions. Follow-Up: Depending on the therapeutic model, clients may schedule their next session at the end of the first session, or they may be encouraged to contact the therapist to set up future appointments.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: Cognitive behavioral therapy is a treatment program that focuses on meeting specific behavioral goals in a limited period of time. Cognitive-behavioral therapy seeks to help you adjust your thought patterns so that your emotions and behaviors change for the better. Examples of mental health and behavioral issues are those clients who present anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Art Therapy allows you to express your feelings and thoughts through art, including painting, coloring, and drawing, for clients who struggle to express their emotions and experiences through words alone. Attachment-Based Therapy taps into the experiences that influence your early attachment experiences, or the bonds that developed between you and your family.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Mental health therapy is a process where the client and therapist work together on the client’s challenges and attempt to get some relief or resolution. I am a strong communicator, I speak to you clearly and direct. I am honest and use plain language to explain the therapeutic outlook to you. Excellent listener: I pay attention to the specific words and phrases you use, and should be using your own words when discussing the issues you are bringing up. Trustworthy: if you feel you need to bring up a concern with what they are saying or doing with you, you should feel comfortable with them to do this because they should have built a good relationship with you where you trust each other. I am open and non-judgemental, flexible approach.
