We live in a world where it’s easy to get so caught up in the doing that we lose touch with the being. We struggle with defining our values, deciding how we want to fit into the world, and finding the qualities and attitudes that we resonate with. But therapy can help us rediscover our authentic self, our best self, and find internal consistency with who we want to be and how we show up in our lives. I focus on helping adults navigate the complexities of life, particularly those impacted by trauma, anxiety, and unhealthy boundaries. I believe that true healing begins with understanding your values, honoring your experiences, and cultivating self-compassion.
My approach is rooted in creating a safe, supportive environment where you can feel centered and accepted. Wherever you are is where we’ll start. And together, we'll delve into your life’s stressors and challenges, and learn about who you are, how you handle things, and how you may like to do things differently. Whether you're grappling with anxiety's grip, struggling to set healthy boundaries, or seeking to heal from past wounds, I'm here to walk alongside you on your journey towards being and expressing who you truly want to be.
I strive to see and to understand the person I am working with, drawing from my own struggles and experiences as well as from the stories of clients I have worked with for more than a decade.
IFS involves getting to know the different aspects of your personality (parts), understanding them (and therefore yourself) better, and learning to function in a more integrated way.
Trauma affects people in ways that are many and varied. Responses that were once adaptive may cease to be so, but remain patterned in our thoughts and behaviors. We can learn to recognize that, appreciate that we did what we needed to in order to survive, and learn new ways of being and doing.
