(she/her)
I have a dual license; I am a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). I have 7 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner focusing on delivering high levels of care to individuals. As a PMHNP-BC Across the Lifespan, I received my education and training from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. I specialized in treating anxiety/generalized anxiety disorder, panic attacks, depression, OCD, insomnia, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, and PTSD. I see ages 15 - 90 years. After a thorough initial evaluation, I will diagnose and make recommendations based on the patient's recovery care plan. My treatment goals involve educating patients and maximizing treatment benefits, with minimal side effects, along with psychotherapy. The initial step is to assess the client's needs and develop a recovery plan. CBT is a common type of talk therapy that will be used during the session; it helps to identify ways to override and cope with specific challenges. Most of the patients seen have a gradual lifting of symptoms within the first month and sustained improvement thereafter.
During the initial sessions, I will delve deeply into the issues at hand, to create a plan addressing their concerns in a way that helps them to get their life back. After each session, the clients will be impressed with the way their care is being handled, which involves being empowered in thorough detail on care delivery, with an open mind, and with non-judgmental approach.
I focus on prioritizing individual needs, using a holistic and compassionate approach to addressing the full range of patients’ needs. After comprehensive assessment, I provide the necessary time to discuss, listen, and educate patients, which involves empowering them with their care. Despite that I am warm and respect clients' and family preferences ensuring optimum delivery of treatment using various forms of psychotherapy, and medication management, all depending on the client’s plan of care.
Everyone is unique, therefore, each treatment plan is individualized and created based on their care. So, clients were actively encouraged to participate in understanding their needs, during the visit, while their care was being rendered with an empathetic approach. We all know each client is responsible for providing correct and complete information about their health and past medical history, to assist with care delivery.
