“Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly.” ~Barbara Haines Howette Hello, my name is Adrienne Better, and I am a license clinical social worker living in the State of Maryland. For my entire life, I have always had a passion to help people through their own life’s journey. I have been in the helping professional for over 10 years, and within those years I have had the privilege of assisting people in making changes for the better in their lives. You have already started your process of change by exploring this website and my page, it would be my honor to assist you in your journey towards healing and wholeness. I do a combination of person-centered and strength-based approaches in treatment where I provide you with the moment and the space you need to be heard and empowered. I co-journey with you to explore your areas of concerns and provide you with the therapeutic interventional tools you need to work towards resolution. I am a believer in you and the goal you set for yourself. Let the journey begin.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Client can expect to be heard and understood on what is happening in their lives in the very first session and beyond.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am a great listener and a wealth of empathy and knowledge. The sessions are designed to be the moment for the client and nothing else.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work best with adults (male/female) who are tired of hurting and want to start living again by breaking unhealthy patterns in thinking, feeling and/or behavior.

My treatment methods

Strength-Based

I use strength-based approach that is geared in positive psychology that focuses on discovering or rediscovering a person’s values, meaning, purposes and strengths to rebuild their foundation and expand their growth and future. I have experience with CBT and Trauma-Focus therapy that also can be useful in treatment.
