Hi! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia. I received my Bachelors and Masters from Radford University, and have been practicing for 4 years. I help teens and young adults work through depression, anxiety, grief, life transitions, and anger management. I have worked with clients of differing gender identities, sexual orientations, and ethnicities. My goal is to make you feel heard and accepted.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. This will be your opportunity to get to know me and ask questions!

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have worked with children, teens, and young adults in the past 4 years. One of my greatest strengths, is to provide a non-judgmental environment for you to feel comfortable talking about the difficult things. Another strength is my genuine compassion and desire to help others. My final strength, is a collaborative approach to make YOU the focus of the treatment and get your feedback on what works best for you.

My treatment methods

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-focused practice concentrates on helping people move towards the future that they want and to learn what can be done differently by using their existing skills, strategies and ideas – rather than focusing on the problem.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I will aim to teach people that it is possible to have control over your thoughts, feelings and behaviors. CBT helps you to challenge and overcome automatic beliefs, and use practical strategies to change or modify your behavior.

Compassion Focused

I will encourage the client to focus on, understand and feel compassion to themself during negative thought processes, with a strong focus on nurturing compassion within the self.

Grief Therapy

I will provide treatment that helps a person work through a greater than normal reaction to a loss, such as the death of a loved one.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I will help you to explore your own issues, feelings, beliefs, behaviour, and worldview, so you can become more self-aware and achieve greater independence.
