Hi! My name is Tara and I am the owner of Peace of Mind Counseling Service. I am a licensed professional counselor in Ohio with 8 years of clinical experience. Positive mental health is fundamental to living a healthy well-balanced life. Although the general perception of mental health has improved in recent times, people can still be fearful of the negative stigma that is attached to mental health illnesses. This can add to the anxiety and fear of seeking mental health treatment. I can provide treatment and coping skills to manage life stressors while showing clients respect and support in a therapeutically safe environment.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I will assist clients in identifying personal goals and objectives that they would like to achieve through therapy. We can then explore the most effective ways to implement coping skills to meet your goals. I utilize a variety of evidenced-based psychotherapy approaches through CBT and DBT techniques including identifying negative thinking, distorted thinking patterns, core mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotion regulation. These techniques can assist in treating a variety of mental health disorders.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I maintain a person centered approach as each person’s lived life experiences are unique to them. I will meet you where you are at. I truly love being a therapist because I get to assist people in learning a new happiness and a new freedom. I get to witness increased hope and inner strength while empowering a client to live their best life.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I come from a place of nonjudgment when working others. I am authentic and easy to talk to. I have over 8 yrs of experience treating substance use disorders, anxiety, ADHD, depression, trauma, and personality disorders.
