Hello! My name is Jess. Are you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or struggling with life's challenges? As a licensed counselor, I offer a safe and supportive space where you can openly express your thoughts and emotions without judgment. Together, we'll explore the root causes of your concerns, develop coping strategies, and work towards achieving your personal goals. Whether you're facing anxiety, relationship issues, or seeking self-growth, I provide evidence-based interventions tailored to your unique needs. I am committed to helping you navigate through difficult times, enhance your well-being, and discover your inner strengths. Let's embark on a transformative journey to empower you and create positive changes in your life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Clients can expect to gain a variety of benefits and takeaways from therapy sessions. While each person's experience is unique, here are some common outcomes clients often report: Increased self-awareness Improved coping skills Enhanced problem-solving abilities Emotional regulation Improved relationships Increased self-esteem and self-acceptance It's important to note that therapy outcomes can vary depending on individual circumstances and goals. The therapeutic journey is unique to each client, and the benefits they derive from therapy are highly individualized.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

While I enjoy working with a variety of client populations, I feel especially drawn to those experiencing significant life transitions (career change/burnout, new relationships/breakups, pregnancy/parenthood, navigating into adulthood, legal involvement, relocating, etc.) where the individual may be struggling with feelings of anxiety, depression, and/or overwhelming stress.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

With a strong foundation in CBT, I guide individuals in identifying cognitive distortions, developing healthier coping strategies, and building resilience. I use CBT in a collaborative and practical way, tailoring interventions to each client’s unique needs. My approach integrates structured techniques like cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, and skill-building to promote meaningful change. By helping clients develop greater self-awareness and practical tools, I empower them to navigate challenges with confidence and clarity.

Positive Psychology

Positive Psychology is a foundational aspect of my approach, focusing on strengths, resilience, and personal growth to help clients build fulfilling lives. Rather than solely addressing problems, I help clients identify and cultivate what is already working well, fostering a sense of meaning, purpose, and overall well-being. In my practice, I integrate Positive Psychology techniques such as gratitude exercises, strengths-based interventions, mindfulness, and resilience-building strategies to empower clients in navigating life’s challenges. By shifting the focus from deficits to potential, clients develop a greater sense of self-efficacy and optimism, leading to lasting, meaningful change. Whether working with individuals overcoming adversity or those seeking personal growth, I tailor interventions to help clients harness their strengths and create positive momentum in their lives.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a key component of my therapeutic approach, helping clients explore and strengthen their own motivation for change. Rather than imposing solutions, I use MI to foster a collaborative, nonjudgmental space where clients can identify their values, goals, and internal reasons for making meaningful changes. In my practice, I apply MI techniques such as open-ended questioning, reflective listening, affirmations, and exploring ambivalence to help clients move from uncertainty to action. This approach is especially effective for individuals struggling with behavioral changes related to substance use, mental health, and lifestyle choices. By emphasizing autonomy and self-efficacy, MI allows clients to take ownership of their decisions, leading to sustainable, client-driven progress. My role is to guide and support, helping clients resolve ambivalence and build the confidence to move toward their goals.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a central part of my therapeutic approach, helping clients cultivate psychological flexibility by accepting difficult emotions while committing to values-based actions. Rather than avoiding discomfort, I guide clients in developing a new relationship with their thoughts and feelings—one that allows them to live with greater meaning and authenticity.
