I want to begin by acknowledging your courage in seeking therapy because it is a significant step toward healing and growth. Whether you are returning to therapy, are seeking a "good fit", or are here for the first time, I'm honored to be a part of this process. My role is to provide you with a safe and non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences while I provide that space to listen, to educate, and to empower you. I truly believe that you are the expert in your own life and I am here to guide and support you. I believe that therapy works best when we tailor treatment to fit your needs and will draw from various therapeutic approaches to explore what strategies may help you. I look forward to getting to know you and us working together to help you achieve your goals to find greater fulfillment in your life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is an intake session where I will introduce myself, review confidentiality with you, answer any questions you may have, and explore the reasons for seeking therapy along with therapy goals. This is a chance to see if we are a good fit, address any concerns and uncertainties about the therapeutic process, and clarify expectations for therapy. I look forward to our first meeting!

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I enjoy working with adults, though I find myself particularly drawn to college students and first responders. I find my biggest strengths include my listening skills, empathy and insight into what may be useful with each client. * PLEASE NOTE: I do not work with couples or families. I can only meet with clients who are physically located in California at the time of the session. *

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is widely used in treating various conditions through goal setting, psychoeducation, cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, and problem solving.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT focuses on treating client's that are typically unresponsive to approaches like CBT. ACT focuses on values, acceptance, mindful awareness, defusing from thoughts, taking committed action, and focusing on experiential exercises.

EMDR

I am trained in EMDR and working on certification. EMDR is a transformative approach to helping client's process traumatic experiences and alleviate associated symptoms. It incorporates bilateral stimulation (typically through tapping or eye movements) while focusing on distressing memories, thoughts, or feelings.

Grief Therapy

To help client's cope with grief and loss whether it be someone who has passed or significant life changes. This involves a safe space to validate, understanding the grief process, exploring the loss and meaning, identifying coping, and finding purpose again.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

SFT is a strength-based approach that focuses on solutions rather than problems while emphasizing a client's existing resource and ability to create positive change.
