My name is Natalia Manzary and I am a Licenced Clinical Social Worker. Born and raised in Hawthorne, CA, I embarked on my career in Social Work in 2016. I have experience working with families and individuals of all ages (young children, adolescents, young adults, and adults). Growing up, the topic of mental health was a discussion that was frowned upon. At a young age, I noticed the cycles of trauma and fear to express oneself were continuously passed on, which essentially creates a limited environment for a person to thrive and grow. My passion for therapy grew as I learned about the stigmas in mental health. Through personal and professional experiences, I can assist my clients with navigating the different spaces and people that one encounters in life. My goal is to explore childhood and trauma, eliminating maladaptive coping by learning and acquiring an array of skills, focusing on strengths, and developing strong communication skills to maintain self-respect and advocate for your needs.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Clients can expect a variety of things from our therapy sessions. Sessions are designed to provide clients with a safe space to share their thoughts and feelings, but also a space to learn skills to improve functioning. My goal is to make clients feel comfortable and supported during our sessions by strengthening the therapeutic relationship and providing nonjudgemental insights. Clients can expect a strength-based approach, which focuses on individuals' strengths (including personal strengths and social and community networks) and not on their deficits. Strengths-based practice is holistic and multidisciplinary and works with the individual to promote their well-being.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

1. Empathy- active listening, self-awareness, and open mindfulness. 2. Flexibility- having the ability to deal with unexpected challenges quickly, calmly and efficiently. 3. Patience- having the will to navigate the obstacles and challenges you will face as you work the process. 4. Strong Communication- speaking clearly, concisely, and loudly (but not too loud), while building a good rapport with clients. 5. Clinical expertise- knowledge and competence of theory and therapeutic frameworks. 6. Nonjudgmental attitude- by allowing clients to speak without interruption, the client will be able to work through and understand their own situation more quickly.
