Do you struggle with just being yourself these days? Well, kick off your shoes, relax, put up your feet, let's get real and talk. Many people see therapy as a never-ending cycle of therapists sitting with a notepad repeating, "How does that make you feel?". Hi, My name is John’Neiska "JoJo" Williams and I am a licensed professional counselor in the states TX and LA, I can assure therapy with me is never a cliche. I know how easy it is to feel alone and always ask why you. Some days it's easy to feel trapped looking for the fastest escape. At times you want to burst into tears or other times you feel like you're making all the wrong choices. I can understand if you need a break and want to scream. I'm here to help. Let's explore those issues you may be struggling with together and take back control of your life. I have certifications and a license as an addiction counselor. I have extensive training in trauma. I work well with, have over 10 years of experience, including my internship, and specialize in bipolar, women's issues, anxiety, personality disorders, LGBT issues, and substance/alcohol abuse. I also work well with Depression, stress, and trauma-related issues.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
In our first session, we will start with brief introductions. I like to get your needs, wants, goals, and expectations of therapy. I also like to talk about your past experiences with therapy and what made you consider therapy as the best option for you. I like to also let clients know therapy with me, you will work collaboratively with me and remain autonomous. I will explain my theoretical approaches to therapy just to make sure you are comfortable with some of the tasks such as interventions, psychoeducation, and homework I Amy ask of you.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
I have strengths in multiple areas of counseling and value myself as an eclectic clinician who pulls from many modalities. I like to approach therapy from a humanistic, holistic, person-centered form of therapy. Those include Gestalt, Narrative, and Prolonged Exposure Therapies that have experience with and use that have been successful at best serving my clients.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I try to be competent in all areas of counseling. However, my biggest strengths and specialties include my ability to challenge and use confrontation in a positively reinforcing and therapeutic way. This creates awareness in a way that allows an individual to change emotions with their actions and not control emotions with their actions. I am not accepting teens/adolescents, high school students, or couples currently.
