I'm Tanya, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) based in California. I bring a respectful, compassionate presence to our work together. Clients often tell me they feel seen, heard, and genuinely respected in our sessions. I believe every person deserves a space where they are valued and met with empathy, no matter what they’re facing. I’ve worked in colleges, corporate settings, healthcare environments, and private practice, which has given me a well-rounded view of the challenges people face—whether it’s navigating career changes, managing stress, dealing with health issues, or simply feeling stuck. This diverse experience helps me meet clients with a practical, flexible, and deeply human approach. No matter where you are in life, I aim to offer support that feels grounded, relatable, and tailored to you. I genuinely care about understanding what matters most to you and supporting you in navigating life with more clarity and confidence.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Therapy with me is a supportive partnership—a place for self-discovery, growth, and relief. In our first session, we'll get to know each other, explore what brings you to therapy, and begin shaping a path forward that feels right for you. If you're ready to take the next step, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and always tailored to your unique needs. I genuinely enjoy getting to know what makes each person special—even in the moments when it's hard for them to see it themselves. I'm here to support you through life’s challenges and help you feel more grounded, understood, and empowered along the way. As someone who’s passionate about learning, I stay up to date on the latest research in mental health and well-being. I draw from evidence-based therapies like ACT, CBT, DBT, and Mindful Self-Compassion to help you develop practical tools, meaningful insights, and a stronger connection to the life you want to live.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work with adults navigating confidence issues, anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, neurodivergence, career issues, challenges with people pleasing, and more. Whether you're adjusting to a major change or looking to heal from past pain my goal is to help you feel more grounded, empowered, and connected to your own values.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients manage difficult thoughts and emotions while moving toward what truly matters to them. It resonates with many of my clients because it balances compassion with action. In practice, ACT offers a structured yet flexible framework that combines mindfulness and values-based action to build greater emotional resilience.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. With experience applying CBT across a range of issues like anxiety, depression, and stress, I guide clients in developing more balanced, constructive ways of responding. CBT is practical and goal-oriented, and I tailor it to each person’s needs to support meaningful, lasting change.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I incorporate Person-Centered Therapy by creating a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel genuinely heard and accepted. Rooted in Carl Rogers’ approach, this method emphasizes empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard. I trust that each client has the inner capacity for growth, and I support that process by fostering a safe, collaborative relationship where they can explore their thoughts and emotions at their own pace.
